What we collect, why, and how to get it back.
TVMenus is a business tool, not an advertising product. We run no analytics scripts, set no tracking cookies, and sell nothing. Effective July 21, 2026.

Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible for your data
TVMenus is operated by Cook Coding, LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy through our /contact page.
2. What we collect and why

We do not ask for and do not want payment card numbers, government identifiers, health information, or precise location.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not run advertising, and we do not build profiles about you.
The TVMenus dashboard loads no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. We set two cookies: one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. Neither follows you to other websites, and there are no advertising cookies to opt out of.
4. Who processes data on our behalf
We use a small number of service providers. Each processes data only to deliver its part of the product, under contract, and none of them may use your information for their own purposes.

We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If we are ever involved in a merger or sale of the business, your information may transfer with it, and you will be told before that happens.
5. How we protect it
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored using bcrypt and are never recoverable in readable form, which is why a forgotten password is reset rather than retrieved. The secret each television uses to authenticate is stored only as a SHA-256 hash. Every query is scoped to your company, so one customer’s menus and screens are not reachable from another’s account.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator the law requires, without undue delay.
6. How long we keep it
Account, menu, and screen data is kept while your account exists. Cancelling a subscription does not delete anything. The account moves to the Free plan and your content stays where it is so you can return to it.
Sign-in links and password-reset tokens expire automatically within an hour. Pairing codes expire once used or after their time limit. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years.
If you ask us to delete your account, we remove it and its content from our live systems within 30 days, apart from records we are legally required to retain. Backups age out on their own schedule.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- send you a copy of your data. We will export your menus, sections, items, and screen list as a JSON file;
- delete your account and its content;
- stop sending you marketing email.
Make any of these requests through /contact. We will respond within 30 days and will not charge you or treat you differently for asking. There is no self-serve export or delete button in the dashboard, so these requests reach a person.
California residents have these same rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is no “Do Not Sell or Share” process to complete. The answer is already no.
8. Marketing email
If you request a guide, use a calculator, or ask us a question, we may email you about TVMenus. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects the transactional email your account depends on: billing notices, password resets, and sign-in links keep working.
The link opens /email-preferences, where you can turn individual kinds of email on or off or stop all of them at once. It needs no password, and it takes effect immediately. Mail apps that offer a one-click unsubscribe button are honoured too. If you would rather we did it by hand, ask through /contact.
9. Where data is held
TVMenus is operated from the United States and our providers store data on servers in the United States. If you use the service from elsewhere, you are sending your information to the United States, where privacy law differs from your own.
10. Children
TVMenus is a tool for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us through /contact and we will remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. For material changes we will email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect.
